When to limit a .quad

On my printed out limiter target (pt/pd), the pure whites count to 250 with a densitometer (251 with eye measurement). Is limiting suggested?
If limiting is optional under this circumstance, what kind of difference will it make if I choose to limit.

I suggest limiting first just so you don’t mess the highlights up during the actual linearization.
