Water purity concerns for clearing and washing prints

Hello everybody,

As pretty much everybody else who lives in the UK, I suffer from incredibly hard water (blame it on all the chalk and limestone in the soil). I have very good filters (hassmanufacturing.com) on both my hot and cold water feeds but am still getting limescale (calcium carbonate) deposit issues.

So my question is: for clearing and washing my Pt/Pd prints, should I:

a) not worry about it;
b) invest in a water softener (sodium bicarbonate residue could be an issue);
c) invest in a modern water conditioner such as Aquabion (https://www.aquabion-uk.com/domestic-products/) that eliminates limescale but does potentially leave a zinc carbonate residue…

Your help and advice is most appreciated,

Roy
