Unsuccsesful linearization

Walker.
I realise that I have to go through the linearisation process and I have done so twice already. The problem I have is that the first test chart is so far off (much too dark) and then that the curve sort of oscillates between too dark and too light.
I don’t have a mercury doped bulb, I have UV fluorescent tubes.

Don’t you agree that my print of the first test chart looks much darker than the first attempt we made at the workshop ?

I will try the curves that you supply but that doesn’t really answer the question why I have such problems with the linearisation.

The curves you supplied are for a 3880-printer.
I have a 4800-printer ?

The 3880 and 4800 curves are the same. Same print head architecture.

There is a thread in this forum a ways back with someone who had a similar problem. What they did is manually tune the starting curve lighter. And then they printed with this starting curve to linearize.

Because this process is iterative, you can take either the curves I gave you or the curve that is printing too light and linearize from that.

Ok, I will give it a try. I have a couple of shoots scheduled in the coming days so I will get back to you next week.

All the Best, Johan
