What a disaster!
When I joined InkjetMall, my first big mission was to figure out why our Piezography and InkjetMall Community forums were acting like a teenager with a broken phone—sluggish, buggy, and constantly crashing. It was an epic battle. Turns out, the forum was buried under a pile of custom code that was fighting with Discourse’s own programming, and the server it was on was, to put it mildly, a digital hoarder.
So, before I could even think about updating anything, I had to be a digital Marie Kondo. Last week, I finally found the biggest server-level bug—a real digital gremlin—and evicted it.
Then, last night, while you were all dreaming of perfect print quality (except maybe our friends in the EU, who were still awake and probably printing), I pulled the ultimate all-nighter. I moved every single one of our posts and profiles to a squeaky-clean, brand-new versions of Discourse.
The old forum is now gone. The new one is here. I’m hoping this new setup will be a lot faster and that all those forum notifications you’ve been missing will finally find their way back to your inboxes.
Happy posting, everyone! Let’s make some noise!
