Silver soft proof icc's?

Hi Walker,

Very strange with any of the soft proof profiles for silver. If I load any of the profiles labeled silver, from the 4900, 3880, 9880, folders the preview on screen is a distinct green tone. This is on a single channel greytone file or any file. Never seen this before , all of the other icc’s profiles behave normally. How is this possible on a greytone?

I can answer the how, but not the why. The A and B data are used to simulate paper and image hue in the soft-proof. No idea why you are seeing green.

I’ve never paid much attention to soft-proofs before, but just for fun and out of curiosity, I looked at an image in Ps using iccs I made for Palladium as well as some that IJM provide in the PiezoDN package. They look pretty much as they should unless I turn on Simulate Paper Color or Black Ink, in which case it’s noticeably more washed out than the print will be.

Rendering intent makes a difference too.

This is odd. Will investigate and get back. Could be corrupted profiles.

best,

Walker
