Remapping Matt Black to Chroma Optimiser?

On my P7000 it is not possible to switch from Photo Black to Matt Black. The printer says cleaning error. To overcome this problem my intention is to change the Matt Black to the Chroma Optimiser / LLK cartridge slot. That means I have to use Hahnemule protective spray on my glossy prints in stead of the Chroma optimiser. That is not a big problem as I mainly use Matt papers and very seldom glossy.

But when I open the Piezography Professional 2.2.2.xlsb sheet under “New Curve Channel Remapping” there is only # K Curve not # MK Curve and # PK Curve. Does the system know from the starting curve information that it is a Matt / Photo black that has to be remapped?

So when I remapp a curve with photo black I only make the # LLK Curve to “Null” and when remapping a Matt curve I make the # LLK Curve to # K Curve and the # K Curve to “Null”.

Have I guessed right?

Hi Lasse,

On the P7000 there is only a black channel in the print head. Both MK and PK share that channel and ink switching is performed at the printer. So the #K channel in PPETv2 represents the channel at the print head and whatever values are there are triggered by the curve.

Maybe a forum participant has an idea for you on how to overcome the cleaning error. My experience is that it is often due to a too full maintenance tank, or the other black ink cart does not have enough % remaining on its chip.

Hello

I have now made a group of new curves for the repaved P7000 where the MK is moved to the LLK (=CromaOptimizer) slot.

I mad a new folder to where I copied the remapped curves, xxx.quad files, BUT when I pushed the “InstallP7000-ProK5.command”, that is in the same folder as the new remapped quad files I see in Terminal the following text:

The default interactive shell is now zsh.

Can anyone help what have I done wrong? Terminal say: Permission denied, to install the new curves.

There is also a textline starting Ipamdin, in Swedish saying that my printer driver is old and will stop functioning in a coming CUPS. What does this mean? Something to worry about? Actions needed?

Also, please make sure that each of the new profiles you generated have permissions set for “everyone” to Read & Write.
