Polymer Photogravure Calibration

A question for you polymer plate users.

I’m using a Epson 1430 - so I can’t do direct to plate.

Using the PiezoDN process, how do you calibrate for this process using a digital negative? It’s not clear to me how I linearize a quad when I have to make a exposure first with the stochastic screen and then with the digital negative itself.

Any insights much appreciated.

David

You do this with PPEv2 because it allows for better smoothing of the very wavy measurements from the plate print.

Thanks, Walker. I don’t have PPEv2.

Just so I’m clear on this, would it replace anything I do with PiezoDN (which I currently use)?

I notice, too, that PPEv2 is backordered - when do you think it will be available again?

David

Right - just answered my own question by watching the various videos - PPEv2 has everything I need for PiezoDN.

Just curious about its availability?

Thanks.
