P900 ink positions and setup (UK)

Hello,

I posted these questions in the InkjetMall community forum, but not sure whether it really belongs here. (It hasn’t been posted yet anyway).

I just received the starter kit for Piezography pro (ink and carts) for the P900 (I’m in the UK).

What inks go in what carts? There are no instructions I can find on the P900 yet on the website.

Also, after installing, to flush the lines can I do 3 strong cleans as per the P800? And if so does it damage the head if I do them straight after each other?

I am planning on following Marrutt’s instructions for their refillable carts which look pretty much the same as yours:

Is this what you would do?

Thanks for your time.

Best,
Mark

Hi Mark,

I’ll respond off forum giving you the Piezography P900 curves set and instructions. I do not do this on our forum because it can cause confusion. No matte how many times we write that the USA version of the P900 can NOT be used with Piezography we get customers who have bought them with expectations it can. So we do not provide anything online - as that would just further cloud the issue with USA P900 vs EU P900.

Kindest regards,

Jon

Hi Mark,

I’m also in UK and moved from P700EU to P900EU last year. All works flawless with Jon’s help sending curves. I use it for Piezo and PiezoDN, so happy to exchange email or whatsapp and help where I can.

Thanks. I have got it up and running now. Although I went through a lot of ink flushing the lines and the chips seem to be temperamental in being recognised. Jon was very helpful.

I find the chip resetter to be very hard to get to reset. Is it just me or is this normal?

Cheers,
Mark

I know it’s a year after your comment but I just received my P900 kit and I can’t get the chip resetter to work at all. I get the flashing red followed by steady green but it doesn’t change the ink levels. I have 2 EU P900, same result with both. Did you ever get to the bottom of it?

I find the resetter temperamental, but it does work after I get the solid green light. It usually takes a few tries with each cartridge.

If you get the solid green light and it is not resetting it sounds like you have a faulty resetter? Or maybe you need EU cartridges to reset.

Thanks for replying Mark. I have been reading your posts as I’m trying to put the p900 system together and there isn’t much info out there.

I’m in the UK so I’m not sure how I could be using non eu carts, I wonder if there is a telltale marking, I’ll have a look. The resetter is a bit fiddly to put on but I think I can do it most times and I can get the green solid light each time. I tried with different carts all with different levels in case it was level dependant.

It says it won’t work if levels are below 15% which is a shame as I have a load of empty carts here. I can’t see a percentage readout anywhere and I’ve tried it with carts that show nearly 50% on screen and nothing works. I hope it’s as simple as a bad resetter.

all the best,

Adrian

I didn’t know you were in the UK (so am I) so you should be OK. As the US carts cannot be reset I thought that might be an issue.

It sound like you have a faulty resetter if none of the carts will reset and they were not low on ink beforehand. After the solid green light mine all read 100% full.

The only other thing I can think of is if they are the inital carts that come with the printer. I think these are different chips that tell the printer to do an initial fill when the printer is new. I cannot remember if any of the carts in mine were the initial carts because I had been using the printer with colour carts for a while before I converted it.

You can get a new resetter in the UK from Marrutt but they are a bit pricey.

EDIT ignore what I said about the initial chips if you got the kit from Jon Cone. Some people harvest chips of old cartridges and reset them.

Thanks Mark,

I did try an initial cart and the printer recognises it and won’t play. It didn’t reset either. Rachel replied to me yesterday so hopefully they can replace the resetter that came in the kit.

I hope it works out.

My P900 has been working fine with the Piezography inks.

Regards,

Mark

Good news, I now have a new resetter and it works, hurrah!

Now to fill the carts and flush the printer and then to my first print….
