P800 conversion

I’ve finally sourced a used P800 to replace my malfunctioning P900 in the UK. I am ordering a set of refillable self resetting carts from the UK and I have a full set of Piezography Pro inks which I had already purchased for the P900.

What is the most efficient way to purge the colour ink out of the lines if I 99% only use photo black rather than matte. I take it that not doing an init fill will not purge one of the blacks? Or should I just do an init fill?

Also can I retrieve the Piezography ink that is still in the carts of the broken P900?

Thanks for any guidance you can give.

Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Sorry to hear about your malfunctioning P900.

The INITIAL FILL is the safest way of performing the purge because it uses strong suction and does not apply any electrical stimulation to the print head. The P900 has two black ink channels so both should be purged when you run the INITIAL INK FILL.

You should be able to pull the ink out of the P900 carts with a priming tip.

Hi Rachel,

I have hopefully acquired a P800 not a P900. I am not getting another P900 as they are really flimsy and have too many issues.

Best,
