NO Black Border will appear if no curve is used

Dear Walker

I produced a 31 steps patches for myself and try to print this out using PiezoDN. I use no color management, and select NO curve under QTR for printing. I discovered that the “automated black border” will NOT appear. Is that normal??? And, if i select no curve for print patches, no matter the patches is produced by myself or those included in PiezoDN, the quality of the patches is not good at all. It is very rough, and you can notice that once the printing is finished.

Can you explain to me a bit more on this?

If you are not using a curve, you are not using PiezoDN. It is in the curves that the magic lies. Maybe Walker can/will explain better.

Keith is correct. PiezoDN lives in the curves.
