I am stumped.
Using PiezoDN tools I built a new .quad and installed it via the standard way. Something I have done hundreds of times before. This time when I went to print with the new .quad nothing printed; meaning the printer started to print but laid down no ink. I checked permissions on this new quad and they are R/W.
Of course, before this I ran a perfect nozzle check (like I always do before starting a printing session). After this failure I printed with another .quad and it printed just fine (no other changes).
Some other details:
MacOS Catalina
current Print Tool and QTR
Any thoughts would be appreciated! Or questions…
thank you.
Michael
Hi Michael,
Usually permissions issues results in a lot of ink printing rather than no ink printing.
This is hard to troubleshoot when you’re positive the curve is just like any other curve that you can print with and permissions are the same and nothing is changed other than the data.
You’re welcome to send this .quad to me along with another .quad that is printing correctly (please confirm it is.). I’ll see if my eyes spot anything amiss.
When QTR gets corrupted a re-install usually fixes an issue that is anomaly like… so perhaps do that first.
Perhaps someone else has had a similar experience…and can advise…

Hi Jon,
Thanks for the quick reply…
I reinstalled the Community Edition but not QTR.
Do I have to delete QTR first or can I just install over it?
Thanks!
Michael
I have an update…
First, I reinstalled QTR from a fresh download. I also deleted and reinstalled the QuadP6000.
Next, I printed a known good .quad (one I have used in the past) and it printed just fine.
Next, I ran the new .quad (and the only change was loading this new .quad) and the same result as reported earlier: no printing, no ink, nothing.
I ran the QTR diagnostic script and says that there are inks 9 and 10 in the profile. But when I open the .quad in Sublime Text and the curve view it only shows 8 channels!
Any ideas?
Thanks
Michael
