Installed New Print Head

I just installed a new print head in an Espon P6000 wide format printer. Should I do an initial fill or just run purge pages with Quad Tone RIP.

If you have the opportunity for an INITIAL FILL - take out all your carts, top them off, and shake them gently for about 15 seconds and return them and run the INITIAL FILL and refreshen the inks in your printer. Good opportunity to do that. Just make sure your maintenance tank on right side is at least 1/2 empty… and no chip on a cart reads less than about 20-25% full.

Jon thanks for the quick reply. I have the Service Manual, Field Repair Guide and the Epson Service Software.

Does the Head Rank ID need to be done before the new head is installed or after the new head is installed?

I ask because the Field Repair Guide says before replacing the head and the Service Manual says after head replacement.

afterwards… as I did not know it can be done before hand - but my experience is limited to afterwards…and perhaps it can be done before.

sorry to be obscure - but when I do not know the exact answer I say so…
