I1pro2 won't calibrate

I am having issues with using an i1pro, technically it is the efi es-2000. I own the ipublish software with a dongle. It will connect and show up as a i1pro2 but when I go to measure and hit calibrate, it fails. I also have an i1pro, the original one. and I have the same problem. I have tried every port on 3 different macs from a 2011 imac to a new macbook pro and it’s always the same. I have tried four different cables, still nothing. I hooked it up to the idiagnostics and the same thing. I have tried regular usb ports and powered hubs. At this point I am not sure what else to do. Does anyone else have this porblem?

Thanks,

Greg

update xrite XRD. Use the top left usb only (not the right one). Use a new cable. make sure no other spectro software is open. Make sure you use i1Profiler 1.8.2 (not 3)

best,
Walker

Thanks Walker, I tried all that and it did not work. I ordered a new cable so I will see. I am going to borrow a friends i1pro2 that I know works so I will see if it is the computer or the device.

This is what I get when I run diagnostics:

Have you tested with ColorPort?

-Walker

yes, it did not work. Neither the i1pro or the i1pro2 will work in any of these. I sent the log files to x-rite and I am waiting to hear back from them.

Hi – any solution to this baffling problem?

Yeah return it and get another one. It was actually never used, with 4 seconds of lamp time. I contacted x-rite and they said that the efi-es2000 should work without a problem. The person I talked to had one and he uses his with no problem. I also borrowed a friends and his worked with no problem so it was definitely the spectrometer itself.
