Gloss Optimizer

Question for the group. Is everyone using the gloss optimizer on your digital negs? Does it affect the density of the negative? Stability Thanks for the help.

It does not effect the density. It hardens the neg a bit for people printing editions (multiple prints per neg).

It is optional IMO. You can zero out the LLK channel if you like to not print w/ it.

Thanks Walter,

I am seeing some tine black pinholes or mottling in my small area of my white borders and at first I thought it was due to slightly older batch of FeOx. Have you ever experienced this?

Thanks again.

If this is Hahnemühle Platinum Rag the mottling is actually paper coating coming off. But frankly, there are a million ways for mottling, fog, etc to happen that are not exposure related. A photo would help.

Walker

Thanks again. I am out of town for a couple of days and will post a couple of pics when I get back.
