Exploring Contact Printing Ambrotypes with PiezoDN

I’ve been playing with the idea of contact printing Ambrotypes from digital negatives. To be clear, I’m not looking to dive into the technical weeds about keeping the negative from contact with wet collodion—I think I have that part figured out!

What I’m really curious about is whether any of my fellow PiezoDN users have experimented with this approach and would be willing to share curves, workflows, or lessons learned.

I have a fairly comprehensive working knowledge of PiezoDN for Pt/Pd and Cyanotypes, so any comparative insights—especially around density ranges, tonal compression, and exposure adjustments—would be greatly appreciated.

If you’ve tried this, what worked? What didn’t? How did you adapt your curves for collodion’s high contrast and UV sensitivity compared to Pt/Pd’s long tonal scale?

Looking forward to hearing your experiences!
