Best way to clean inside of large format printers?

In troubleshooting our 9900’s print clogs, I want to go in and remove the dust and paper lint buildup that’s in the machine. I used a Swiffer to remove dust from the outside of the printer and underneath the roll cover. Has anyone tried vacuuming (with an electronics vacuum) inside the machine, or is it enough to wipe the inside down with a dry swiffer or microfiber cloth? Is it worth taking the covers off to get better access? I’m hesitant to use compressed air; seems like it would just blow dust everywhere and possibly create a larger problem. Thanks for any suggestions!
