Best Starting Curves for Arches Infinity Linearization

Hi Walker,

What would be the best starting curves for linearizing Arches Infinity paper ?

Cheers,

Tom

Uncoated? The Hahnemuhle Bamboo pro curve (weirdly enough) will be the best start for uncoated arches.

Walker

It has a coating

Ok.

Please tell me the actual name of the paper. Is it Canson Infinity Platine? Canson Infinity Arches Aquarelle?

W

Its called ‘Arches Infinity’, no longer in production, before the papers you cite were made and Canson took over Arches.

use the hahnemuhle photo rag curve to linearize.

Thats very interestimg.

Im planning to use fabriano rosaspira… Which is 60% cotton uncoated. Bamboo best to star from?

Would the hd inks help get a better dmax on these uncoated art papers…

What are your thoughts on ething papers vs watercolour papers of this type… Which best for piezo inks?

Thanks

I have found any paper that has some sizing internally (Japanese papers that are sized for calligraphy, etc) is best. Yes. Use the UltraHD-MK ink and you should get between 1.45 and 1.63 on uncoated papers depending upon it’s surface. If the uncoated paper is parchmentized (vellum) you can get up to 1.7dmax. This is truly a groundbreaking ink.

best,

Walker
